WAYNE KYLANDER took four wickets and then hit a half-century to guide Thornbury to a crushing win over Corsham.
After winning the toss, Thornbury took wickets regularly through Corsham’s innings, with Kylander taking 4-34 from his ten overs, which included the wicket of Gloucestershire youngster Craig Miles for none.
Henry Blackwell and Joe Maiden took one wicket each, while there was one apiece for Juvaunie Gayle and skipper Richard Trotman.
Thornbury’s opening partnership of Nick Stovold and Kylander ensured there were no hiccups in reply as they put on 99.
Stovold was caught by Ashur Morrison off the bowling of Joseph King for 44 off 55 balls, an innings which included seven fours and a six.
Steve Ford added 37 off 48 balls, with four fours and two sixes, in a 59-run partnership with Kylander before he was caught and bowled by Tom Bowler.
Gayle finished unbeaten on five as Thornbury reached their target in 40.1 overs, but the star was Kylander, who scored 67 not out off 110 balls, hitting six fours and two sixes.
Thornbury’s second win of the season saw them move up one place to fifth, and they host fourth-placed Bridgwater this Saturday.
In Premier One 2nd XI, Thornbury lost by 105 runs at league leaders Corsham.
The home side hit 281-5 with Andrew White taking 3-63 for Thornbury, who were bowled out for 176 in reply despite 35 from Danny Slade.
