A SMALL but enthusiastic crowd braved some rather autumnal weather but were rewarded with some sparkling Rugby Sevens at Saturday’s Dursley RFC Summer Festival.
The Mitsubishi Dursley 7s provided some great rugby and many tries in true Sevens tradition with players from all teams enjoying the open spaces of Dursley’s new pitch.
After a hard fought group stage, Dursley’s first team were worthy winners of the brand new Mitsubishi Dursley 7s Trophy, presented by Kingsley Swaine, Brand Manager at Mitsubishi in Cam, to man-of-the tournament Josh Case.
Dursley captain Tom Broomfield said: “We have all had a great afternoon of rugby and enjoyed the occasion immensley.
“I hope the crowd were entertained and we are all looking forward to defending our title next year.”
