Fin Dixon scored his maiden century as Cam steamrollered local rivals Stone at Everlands on Saturday.

The 15-year-old hit 129 off 128 balls after batting faultlessly through the whole 45 overs.

Stone elected to bowl first and Cam took the score to 29 before Ryan Malpass played all round a John Stutter inswinger.

Steven Rice and David Ward went cheaply, leaving Cam on 59-3.

Captain Guy Hutchinson and Dixon put on 42 until Hutchinson played on to Luke Smith.

Ben Deakin and Dixon amassed a 62-run partnership, which was ended when the wily Steve Carter bowled Deakin for 26, leaving Cam on 173 off 37 overs. Veteran Steve Ballard and Dixon put on 40 in less than six overs, during which time Dixon passed 100.

Dixon then crowned his innings with a massive six over square leg.

Stone’s reply never ever gained any momentum, Chris Barnes hitting a screamer to square leg only to be caught brilliantly by 17-year-old Alex Ballard off George Dolling.

Luke Smith quickly followed, caught off Ballard.

When Keith Driver fell to George Dolling they were on 19-3 off 12 overs.

Vicky and Charlie Ball proved stubborn resistance until the former was runout following excellant fieding by Alex Ballard, who then replaced his father.

He immediately got Charlie Ball’s wicket, well caught by Hutchinson.

In the next over he took two wickets in two balls, including clean bowling James Ball.

Ballard’s fourth wicket came in his next over, with Dolling taking a sharp catch, to end with figures of 4- 7.

Gareth Pretlove finished the innings by bowling Stutter.
