Newport continued their winning run in the Village Cricket League with a win over Tetbury on Sunday.
Batting first, Tetbury were restricted by some tight bowling and good fielding.
Youngster James Barnes bowled his eight overs for 19 runs, ably supported by Luke Smith, whose eight overs conceded 22 runs, with two wickets.
Newport continued to bowl tightly with Charlie Ball conceding 22 runs from his eight overs for two wickets.
A late rally by the Tetbury captain Ricky Walker (42*) and Ben Evans (31*) gave the visitors a score of 143-6 from their 40 overs.
Newport got off to a good start chasing down their total and were always up with the required rate of with opening batsman Ivor Driver scoring 31 before being caught acrobatically by Nick Keylock. Henry Ball carried on the fight finishing with 38 not out at the finish, ably supported by Pete Lavis (47*), who clinched victory in the 35th over by hitting 26 runs with three massive sixes.
Mike Schumm was the pick of the Tetbury bowlers, taking two wickets and conceding only 11 runs off his eight overs.
