WINTERBOURNE crumbled to 66 all out as they suffered their third consecutive league defeat at home to Congresbury.
Things started well for the home side when Adam Moore (3-22) had Congresbury opening batsman Kieran Palmer caught behind by Keith Ford for 0.
David Andrews (4-57) then had Nick Clifton then caught by Jonathan Oakes for seven, induced Ian Perry (13) to edge another one to Ford and trapped Michael Fisher lbw first ball to reduce the visitors to 33-4.
However, Mick Edmunds and Neal Frost put on 107 runs to rescue Congresbury before another flurry of wickets left them on 158-7.
Steve Paul held on to remove Frost off the bowling of Damian Lingard (1-56) for 29, while Edmunds was out for 84 from 90 balls when he was caught by Moore off Marcus Purnell (2-61), who then had Paul Brean caught by Paul Tovey for a duck.
Stuart Castle and Nick Doherty put on 46 in quick time before falling to Moore and Andrews respectively.
Moore picked up his third wicket when he removed Sam Evans to bring Congresbury’s innings to a close.
Winterbourne’s chase got off to a nightmare start when Matt Crane was trapped lbw by Frost for nought.
James Williams and Oakes then fell to Doherty for nought and two respectively as they fell to 7-3.
George Ford was the third batsman to fall for a duck and Frost’s second lbw victim, and when Tovey was caught by Doherty off Stephen Baker Winterbourne were on 22-5.
Opening batsman Steve Paul for 18 off 52 balls stuck around but was eventually caught behind off Sam Evans, who bowled Lingard for 13 soon after.
Keith Ford and Purnell were both bowled by Baker and Andrews was the last man to fall when he was lbw to Doherty.
Chipping Sodbury’s top of the table clash against Shirehampton was cancelled due to rain.
