FRAMPTON Family Riding Club tasted success at the National Riding Club’s Festival of Horse Eventers’ Challenge Championships.

Sally Miles on Sugar and Spice, Charlotte Ashmead on Eternity, Fiona Porter on Unity and Paula Newman on Crown Imperial competed at Aston le Walls in Northamptonshire after qualifying at regional level earlier in the year. This event consists of a timed round of show jumps followed straight away by a cross country course with an optimum time.

The team amassed a total score of 38.6 penalty points which left them in ninth place out of 23 teams where each team drops its worst score.

However, in the ‘All four scores to count’ section, Frampton were 24 points ahead of all the other teams, putting them in first place. Sally Miles had a double clear with 8.8 time faults on the cross country.

Charlotte Ashmead had a double clear with six time faults show jumping and went very fast over the cross country, gaining 2.4 time penalties.

Fiona Porter had two down show jumping and 5.4 time penalties cross country, while Paula Newman had one down show jumping and also went like a rocket in the cross country, gaining four time penalties.
