Castle School pupil Etienne Georgi set a new course record for the 12-year-old category at Severn Road Club’s ten-mile time trial last week.
He posted a time of 25 minutes, 38 seconds on the Old Down-Aust-Tockington course.
Georgi rides for Bristol-based Giant Cycling Club.
Cycling is a family affair in the Georgi household.
All of the family competed on Saturday at the cycling event promoted by Team Tor 2000 at Ilton, Somerset.
Etienne won the under-14s support race whilst his sister, ten-year-old Pfeiffer Georgi, a pupil at Thornbury’s St Mary’s Primary School, took third in the under-12s race.
Their father, Peter Georgi, a past GB rider and recent Masters National Track Champion, took fifth place in the afternoon’s main event, the Kalas Cup 2 Day.
His wife, Louise Georgi, 44, competed in the ladies support race. Not to be out done, Etienne’s grandfather, Ron Georgi, 74, cycles daily and occasionally competes in the 10-mile time trials.
