Dursley Athletics Club runner Garry Hughes broke the course record on leg seven between Dursley and Wotton at the Cotswold Way Relay.
Hughes, running for the mixed team, completed it in 45:51, which means he now holds the records for legs five, six, seven, and eight.
Dursley entered two teams into the annual event organised by Bath AC.
The 103 mile race from Chipping Campden to Bath Abbey is run in ten legs as a relay, with each leg starting a set time and the runners times being added together to work out the results.
The weather was kind to the competitors, staying overcast if a bit blustery.
The first team to finish were the Vets, recording an overall time of 14:33:28 to come 18th overall and third in their category.
The mixed team finished the course in 15:41:22, coming 31st overall and 10th in their category.
The event saw a host of good runs from the club and some close battles.
Leg two saw roadman Paul Wellings pip Dave Wood over the 11.5 miles, Wellings finishing 16th in 01:39:18, with Wood 21st in 01:42:16.
Kevin Jackson (Vets) was 15th on leg four.
Mark Waller battled it out on leg five, finishing 23rd, just 31 seconds in front of Tim George.
Club chairman Graeme Hawkins and club stalwart Roly Hobbs had the pleasure of completing the final leg into Bath with Hawkins finishing 24th in 01:17:13, and Hobbs 58th in 01:29:42.
* Intrepid Dursley athletes lined up on the starting line of the Ironman 70.3 in Wimborne, Dorset.
Apart from the fact it is 70.3 miles of endeavour, it is also not by any stretch of the imagination a personal best course.
A recce earlier in the month had set pulses racing at the mere thought of riding up the inclines on the cycling course.
Hitting the water, Rob Woodward powered his way to be first out.
Laura Price, in her element, was the next fastest Dursley swimmer, Rebecca Topham following her with the evergreen Fred Yearsley hot on her heels.
Some interesting contests were developing in particular between Topham, Yearsley and Woodward, with Topham losing some time in her first transition to the men, but minimising her losses on the bike.
Ray Williams stormed around on the bike in just over three and a half hours, Woodward keeping in touch just under four minutes behind.
Topham clearly had left a bit in the tank, running an excellent 01:57:31, but she could not make up the deficit incurred on the bike, and Williams finished as the first Dursley athlete.
Topham was compensated with a top ten placing in her category.
Yearsley finished with a 02:15 run and was rewarded with a third place in his age category.
Woodward was hot on his heels, just 23 seconds behind, claiming seventh place in his category.
Laura Price knuckled down after her great swim to her less favoured pursuits, and was rewarded with 27th place in her category Results: Ray Williams (29th 50-54cat), 46:38 (swim), 07:28 (T1), 03:35:45 (bike), 02:39 (T2), 02:10:38 (run), 06:43:06 (total); Rebecca Topham (10th 40-44cat) 44:56, 09:02, 03:54:56, 03:01, 01:57:31, 06:49:24; Fred Yearsley (3rd 60-64 cat), 44:23, 07:47, 03:47:17, 03:27, 02:15:19, 06:58:11; Rob Woodward (7th 55-59 cat), 38:07, 07:47, 03:39:21, 02:20, 02:31:00, 06:58:34; Andy Kilby (37th 50-54 cat), 45:43, 07:10, 03:50:55, 02:22, 02:20:08, 07:06:13; Laura Price (27th 40-44 cat), 42:04, 12:01, 04:26:05, 05:50, 02:26:05, 07:52:03.
* Bourton road runners organised the Humps Hilly Half.
The course is picturesque but challenging, with the first mile or so running straight up the Cotswold escarpment and a few climbs later in the course to keep the runners honest.
Chris Gaze finished in 01:29:03, coming 24th (eighth senior male).
Emily Smith finished 55th overall in 01:36:49 (3rd senior lady).
